Reactive acrylic resins
July 23, 2024

Urethane acrylate resins are multi-purpose compounds that are widely used in various industries due to their unique properties. The properties of these resins are due to a combination of chemical properties of urethane and acrylate, resulting in a polymer that offers both flexibility and durability. The curing process of these resins includes exposing the resin to ultraviolet light along with a photoinitiator that initiates the photopolymerization reaction and leads to rapid hardening and coating formation.

Coatings made of urethane acrylate resins provide an excellent balance between flexibility and hardness, which makes them suitable for applications that require hardness and elasticity. These coatings have a high resistance to chemicals, which makes them ideal for use in harsh environments. The high stability of these resins against ultraviolet rays prevents their yellowing and destruction in sunlight.

These resins are quickly cured under ultraviolet light, which significantly increases production efficiency. This technology is especially useful in applications that require fast processing time and less energy consumption to form coatings, such as automotive coatings, printed electronic circuits, and 3D printing.

Urethane acrylate resins are widely used in the production of printing inks and on-surface varnishes (OPV) due to their properties including transparency, high wear resistance, excellent adhesion, and fast curing.
