Marine coatings are coatings with specialized uses that are used to paint and protect ships, marine and coastal structures, and pleasure boats. These products have different types and are designed for harsh weather conditions and immersion in sea water. For this reason, the coatings used must have the greatest resistance to the salt fog test, being in constant contact with sea water and chemicals. Paints made of hydroxylated acrylic resins that are hardened by isocyanates are used as a final coating on epoxy systems. Due to the presence of urethane bands, these coatings have high environmental resistance, especially resistance to sunlight, which prevents epoxy systems from becoming chalky.
